It is written, whom the God’s wish to destroy, they first make mad.

Can we be allowed a little phrase tampering and rewrite, whom the Gods wish to destroy, they first make corrupt.

Here comes another major scandal.  And Dean Barrow is right smack in the middle.  While the BTL 29 million dollars GST non-payment was a bomb, this latest one is a political massacre.

A court document has blown-up in the Prime Minister’s face.  It is riddled with allegations of corruption and name calling of Ministers and some political cronies.

This document was submitted to the United States of America Court in Florida on 10th June, 2019.  It is the product of the US Federal Trade Commission.  It has to do with their years of investigation into what the US F.T.C. says is one of the biggest scams in their history.  Did you hear that- the Biggest!  And it has to do with our battered Belize – victim of political corruption, financial corruption and greed.

Of additional interest is this note at the top of page 4, to the effect that Atlantic International   Bank was such that Americans could do their investments with the bank and the Belize government would not tax the investment because there was no business being done in Belize.

So let’s ask this, who were the lousy or worthless or corrupt Ministers who allowed such a huge multi-million dollar project to escape paying taxes?.

And second question, was there a big kick back to the Minister or Ministers who saved the gangsters from paying taxes to Belize?

There arises another question, BTL is accused of not paying 29 million dollars in taxes.  These millions were kept by BTL and not paid to government.  where have all these millions gone ?.

Prime Minister you have a lot of questions to answer.

And your fake press conference only highlighted how devious and deceptive you are.

When Alicia Keys sat at her piano and started creating the lyrics and the music for her song, she must have been thinking of someone like Wendy.

The song- “This Girl Is On Fire” is how it sounded on Wednesday morning 10th July, 2019.  Wendy was on the PUP radio/TV station with Vaughan Gill.  They were burning Dean Barrow down.

Wendy apparently googled the Florida court and got her hands on the documents for Sanctuary Belize and the alleged dirt therein.  She did her homework.  She was on target.  She was focused. Dean Barrow got arrow after arrow in his chest.  Not a single shot missed.

Wendy at one point, her voice a sharp sword dripping with anger, referred to Barrow quickly jumping up at the last meeting of the House of Representatives to try to silence Kareem Musa for raising Atlantic International Bank and Sanctuary scandal.  She said Barrow didn’t jump up against crime, He did not jump up against poverty, or the sad state of affairs in education, or for the youths on the streets, or unemployment, or on behalf of the peasants who are suffering (Wow!).  But he was quick to jump up, ignoring his bad back, eager to defend Sanctuary and Atlantic International Bank.  Then she fired more shots – asking why? Why?

This was powerful stuff.

Wendy was not acting. The emotion, the anger was real. When she opened the telephone line, the calls came flooding in.

The dull PUP have found a female spokeswoman. Warrior from Nakanda. Johnny that girl is on fire.

Thousands of graduates have poured out of primary school, high school and Sixth Forms.  Many will not be continuing their education (although they should. But can’t afford).

Where will all these graduates go?  Where will all these flowers grow? They have nowhere to go.  Donald Trump doesn’t want them and Dean Barrow has no jobs for them.

It must be frustrating to be a college or Sixth Form graduate and cannot find a job.  It must be real disappointing.  And this is the most hurtful part.  The young people listen to their parents and go to college and Sixth form but when they graduate, the cronies and flunkies, UDP retirees have jobs that should be available.  Life in Belize under the UDP government is so unfair.

Nich means the National Institute for Culture and History.

Recently Mr. Edward “Bunny” Panting passed away.  He was in his nineties.  He lived an illustrious and adventurous life.  He was one of many Belizean labourers who worked on the Panama Canal and survived.  He knows of many Belizean personalities and occurrences.  His history and experiences went with him in the grave.

There are not many “old-timers” still with us. We are losing our history one person at a time.

Here is a thought. NICH should employ on a temporary basis, a dozen sixth form students or graduates with the correct aptitudes. One dozen per district and three dozen for Belize district. Their task: use the voters list and solicit calls from citizens to find senior citizens.

Once located the Sixth Formers will arrange interviews of their background, their parents, their experiences and everything of historic and cultural values that they recall.

We need to document and preserve our history and our culture. These interviews can be shown on Belizean TV. The way Krem and Belizean To Da Bone try to educate us.

NICH needs some fire.
