Belizeans
- did you know that you can now get pizza for only a $1.00 a slice? Yes! You
heard me right. It is a shop that most people may know as Chuch Panades Shop
that is located at the corner of West Canal and South Street. Well the shop is
selling Panades once again. Chuch is now resting above, but what she loved
doing in her shop is taking place once again. I know she must be smiling down
on us.
At
a time when cost of living is so high, parents who have children attending
Queen Square and Wesley Upper Primary Schools can breathe a little easier,
knowing that their children can get a plate of food for only $1.50. It is not
just a plate of food, mind you, but a healthy plate of food cooked by Carla
Martinez.
Martinez,
a mother herself, who has been operating the Coca-Cola booth with a small shed
in front at the corner of Dolphin and Armadillo Streets, told us that she
caters solely to the children – the future of our nation, who can only be
successful and work to their fullest potential if their stomachs are filled.
When
a child has a dream at a very early age and actually accomplishes that dream,
you know that it is someone who has “their heads screwed on right”.They know exactly what they want from life
and will stop at nothing to get it.
That’s
the story of Krystal Gladden, who owns and operates Kristy’s Beauty Salon,
located at #6 Cemetery Road, just next to Little Melchor and two buildings down
from the Salvation Army Primary School.
