Belize City, Thursday, November 6,
2008 --- Belizean consumers have been watching with
rage as world fuel prices have dropped from US$147 per barrel a few months ago
to US$62 per barrel this week without the Barrow administration passing on any
relief to the consumers at the fuel pump. Finally today, the UDP government,
under pressure from the PUP and the business community, announced a sudden BZ$3
drop in pump prices. Why did the UDP punish Belizeans for so long before
passing on the relief?
