Dear Editor:

Is the ACB really the Association of Concerned Belizeans? From what I have been hearing the past few days they are certainly the Association of Confused Belizeans.

As a dialysis patient, let me express my total disappointment in the ACB and the UDP for the negative publicity they have been hammering out at our life saving treatment and a program instituted by the GOB to assists us in being able to access this treatment.

The ebb and flow of popularity in politics is as slippery and erratic as quicksilver- it’s difficult to predict what will happen next. One minute it’s love the next it’s odium. The whims of the populace can not be forecast. Fundamentally, voter mood shifts are inexplicable. And for sure those “mood shifts” can and will be analyzed ad infinitum after the race is run- the “Monday morning quarterback” syndrome.

After the 2006 debacle in the city and town municipal elections many folks were sounding the death knell of the PUP. The defeat was a bitter pill to swallow, though also a wake up call for the PUP.

Imagine, an Opposition that has demonstrated no imagination during their tenure, now asking you to “Imagine” the possibilities under their UDP Government. What a calamity! Imagine that!

On the other hand, the PUP has used lots of imagination so that you may be able to live out the reality of those possibilities. Moving a country forward and facilitating the means for its people requires the skill of using the imagination for any possibility to become a reality. The PUP have demonstrated for more than fifty years that they are the only political party capable of putting to use every bit of imagination as a way forward that benefits all Belizeans.

Barrow’s Ego Clouds Vision

As a preface to this “propaganda review” it is necessary to state that under normal circumstances some of the propaganda information- strategies- that will be cited could be construed as giving assistance to the enemy. Under normal circumstances that would be correct, but when factoring in the megalomaniacal ego of the opposition UDP’s PR ageing wunderkinds and especially party leader Dean Barrow, the salient information in this review will be totally ignored. Considering Barrow and the UDP’s all encompassing arrogance there is no way in hell they will heed the ultimately accurate observations and propaganda insights of this critic because by following any of my advice would be acknowledging their own myopia and missteps. The overriding irony is that due to Barrow’s ego, he continually shoots himself in the foot. The reality is that Barrow can NOT walk on water even though in the deepest recesses of his soul he probably believes he can- and his sainthood is not imminent.
