Fed Up With Incompetent Minister Patsy Faber Print E-mail

Dear Editor:

I am angry and upset with Mr. Faber (Minister of Education) because of the type of people he hires within the Ministry. The driver that he hires to drive for the District Center in Cayo is a "sprang head' and a deportee. This driver apparently drinks the diesel because every other day a fuel order must be made for the vehicle even when it doesn't go to Belmopan or Belize City.

Dear Sir:

As a concerned parent I view with great concern the rampant and haphazard transfer of teachers taking place in the Orange Walk District. These transfers will no doubt affect teachers’ performance, parents, and most of all our innocent children. These transfers coupled with the incompetent District Education Manager, Mr. Daniel Luna, will definitely affect the District’s performance in BJAT, PSE and CSEC.

Why We Have To Go To Court Print E-mail

Dear Editor,

While it may seem that the article I wrote which appeared in Amandala’s July 13th/08 edition ends in presuming that Guatemala would have to be compensated by Great Britain under non-compliance of Article-7 of the 1859 Treaty, and not by the people or Government of Belize, it goes without saying that this should only happen if the World Court found a merit to Guatemala’s Claim.  As I stated in my article “If there is any merit to the Claim, then a penalty should be placed on Great Britain to compensate Guatemala.” I wish to underline here that I stated the words if there is any merit to the Claim.

Dear Editor,

Please allow us to express what we consider a grave issue in the way we have come to address HIV and AIDS in this country. We are a group of people living with HIV and AIDS, and we have come to realize that some people in our midst are in HIV and AIDS work for the wrong reasons and are possibly doing more harm than good.

Disrespectful UDP Government Print E-mail

Dear Editor,

The village council of Billy White Village has been disrespected by area representative and Minister of State Hon. Elvin Penner.  He has totally disregarded the elected village council and insists that all developments, activities etc. will be conducted by his appointed committees.  He has instituted a new Water Board despite the fact that the villagers were against the changes as their previous water board still had some two years to serve the village.  He has formed a lands committee who do not consult with the chairman and council of the village and have recently been measuring (without surveyor) lands in the village and assigning parcels to their party supporters.  Mr. Penner has been invited by the Vilalge Council to a meeting and did arrive at the vilage but left the Council with the villagers waiting for his appearance while he met with his appointed committees in the village in another location and disregarded the Council and the remaining villagers who were expecting him.
