If the problems of
our nation were not serious and if certain components of the proposed seventh
amendment to the Constitution of Belize were not outright dangerous to the
future of our nation, I would dismiss the government’s television ad relating
to the consultations in Orange Walk Town as jocular.Frankly, if these ads were not costing the
taxpayers and if there were no important issues to discuss, then I would not
waste my time, ink and paper in writing this letter.Yes, many of us thanked the panel for their
time to consult with the people; but again there is no logical, reasonable or
even plausible rationale as to why the government is making a BIG ISSUE of a
simple display of common courtesy to them, especially since it is costing the
citizens of Belize.
