APAMO Joins BAS in Objecting to Castro’s bulldozing through Crooked Tree Wetlands

Belize City, April 23, 2008 - Hon. Edmond “Clear The Land” Castro is still under heavy fire from environmental watchdogs for undertaking, without proper consultation nor clearance, a project in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, that has seen the clearing of over 700 yards of an internationally and national recognized wetland area.

Dear Editor:

Did I hear Prime Minister Barrow right? Was PM Barrow really suggesting we fight crime by falsely imprisoning innocent citizens and by listening in to their private conversations? Now, sah!

Every single Belizean should be more than outraged at Prime Minister Barrow's beyond-slippery-slope proposals to supposedly "curb crime". Personally, it makes the hairs on my spine shoot straight up.

The numbers don’t add up, Mr. Castro

Dear Editor,

The Honorable Mr. Castro has displayed a troubling pattern of serious deficiency as a minister of government. Not only has he shown to be incapable of making judicious economic, environmental, and priority decisions but when faced with evidence of his wrongdoing he played the blame game. More seriously, Mr. Castro appears not to have his mathematics right. How could he have spent $4.5 million on just 2,000 feet of road?
