Belize
City, Thursday, October 23, 2008 - This week has
brought the most shocking news of this UDP maladministration: that the Belize
dollar can now buy 10% less than it could a year ago, an effective devaluation.
While the UDP government can call this loss in the value of our currency
whatever fancy name it wishes, the bottom line is that when Belizeans shop, they
are now getting 10% less than what they could get for that same dollar one year
ago.
Belize
City, Thursday, October 23, 2008 --- After six
months of broken promises by the UDP government and City Council, the state of
the downtown Belize City area is in the worst condition in modern Belize City
history. Albert Street and Regent Street now require elevated four wheel drive vehicles
to traverse them. Most taxi drivers understandably will not accept jobs to
these areas because of the damage that the continuous craters will do to their
cars.
