Dear Editor:
Is the ACB really the Association of Concerned Belizeans? From what I have been hearing the past few days they are certainly the Association of Confused Belizeans. As a dialysis patient, let me express my total disappointment in the ACB and the UDP for the negative publicity they have been hammering out at our life saving treatment and a program instituted by the GOB to assists us in being able to access this treatment. Let me ask the ACB ‘legal eagles’ a few basic questions. When you were raking in your millions as corporate attorneys, how much of that did you donate to the Kidney Association that was literally struggling to try to keep some of us alive by assisting in our dialysis treatment? Where were you when I sold my house and just about everything else I had to try to keep up with my dialysis treatment and stay alive? Where was the ACB?Let me be real with you, I had already decided that my family and I would be supporting the UDP in the upcoming general elections. But after listening to the bashing put on by Delroy Cutkelvin and the UDP on an initiative that is keeping me alive, I must say categorically, I have changed my mind. The UDP is really not “fu you and fi mi.” It’s all about themselves. Dean Barrow has been totally quiet on this issue. I have waited to get at least an array of hope from him. What have I gotten? Nothing. My family and I decided yesterday, we will now be supporting the PUP in this election. Why? They are really concerned, they are showing that they care. Will the ACB, quit trying to speak on behalf of Belizeans. You have one agenda, to confuse the minds of the Belizean people. Dean Barrow is it not time for you to speak? Where do you stand on this issue? The real Association of Concerned Belizeans (those thousands of us who vote) who are directly and indirectly affected wants to know. A Dialysis Patient |
