Hankook Verdes gave up their home field advantage in the finals when they played to a 2-2 draw with BDF FC on Sunday.

The Belize Defence Force Football team continued their undefeated on-the-road streak as they equalized the game in the first half and maintained the pressure on the second 45 minutes of play. BDF will be the champions.

Daniel Jimenez, the MVP of the regular season, scored in the first twelve minutes of play for Verdes.

The game was very exciting and very physical. Marko Souto controlled the midfield and Jerome Serano was very outstanding in the defence.

The buck now stops at Jaime Brooks and Charlie Slusher in Cayo this weekend. The game cannot draw; someone has to score more than the other.

The Norman Broaster Stadium will be ram-jammed very early this weekend. Cayo fans from all the villages will be there to support the green machine. Hankook Verdes wants a victory badly; they have had a championship drought for 22 years.

BELIZE TAKES ON MEXICO

Belize will clash against the powerhouse Mexico who rates at 16 in the world standings. A win would be huge for us, but just qualifying to play against Mexico is improving Belize’s image.

Our nation’s name will go very big. We need some friendly matches with Jamaica, Honduras and Costa Rica before the big game.

Game one, the supposed “Home” game will be on June 15th, while the other is on June 21st. Again, Belizeans will be cheated by playing the “home” game away.

LUCKY BOLEDO NUMBERS

My lucky numbers for this week are 15, 11, 28, 56, 73 and 47.

The numbers that are difficult to play right now are 89, which is still out for over 1 year, 9 months and 1 day; 97 which is still out for over 1 year, 7 months and 3 weeks, and 02 which has not been heard of for over 1 year, 5 months and 1 week. 03 and 47 will join the crowd very soon.

Some doubles are also long overdue. 00, 11, 44 and 88 are the only doubles left to play for the year.

A lot of low numbers have also not played lately.

The money is coming our way this week. Big up the Commissioner of Police Mr. Gerald Westby, nuff respect always. Big up Harrison “Ducho” Thomas in Los Angeles, his wife Mrs. Lynette and the family.

TEXMAR TAKES ON BENQUE DC

The Texmar Boys and Benque Viejo DC United will clash in Mango Creek in Independence on Saturday night. Wilmer Garcia and Ashley Torres will get the goals for Texmar Boys.

The Super League games over the weekend did not matter much so Texmar played their bench and lost to Estrella’s FC who picked up a consolation win. Benque and Kraal Rd played to a 2-2 stalemate.

Big up Texmar’s Roberto and Hilberto Muschamp, the $30,000 grand prize will be yours. Texmar Boys will back, but in the BPFL next season.

The new season will be opening in two months time. FIFA says it wants two football season every year, let’s play football.

5 GAMES TO NBA PLAYOFFS

The New Orleans Hornets are Number 1 in the NBA and they will remain there until the playoffs. Chris Paul is leading the NBA in Assists, averaging 11.0 assists a night. This guy is unbelievable. He has been almost perfect on all his passes, with very little turnovers. He has an eye for David West and Tyson Chandler.

The West is very competitive and hard to predict right now. My team is the Phoenix Suns with Shaquille O’Neil and Steve Nash.

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing very well. They will give a lot of trouble.

The San Antonio Spurs are the defending champions. They are back on track and also playing very well right now.

The Boston Celtics have the best record overall at 62-15.

There are only five games left for the entire regular season. So next week I will be looking at playoff predictions in the West and East Divisions.

TARVER vs. WOODS, DAWSON vs. JOHNSON

This weekend will see two grand exclusive boxing fights.

First the IBF Light Heavyweight title will be on the line when Antonio Tarver faces Clinton Woods for a 12 round match. Tarver is back for his IBF Champ belt.

In the other fight Chad Dawson will go to war as he defends his WBC title against former world champion Jamaican born Glen Johnson.

The Showtime fights will be very entertaining.

Next week Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins will go up against Joe Calzaghe of Whales. The fight will go all the way to 12 rounds. Calzaghe will be too fast for Bernard Hopkins. The fight will end in a unanimous decision victory for Joe Calzaghe. This fight already sold out.

ESPN-2 shows fights on Wednesday night and also on Friday nights.

The Boxing World has a lot of good fights coming up in six weeks. The Light-weight and Welter-weight are the most entertaining Divisions.

MEMPHIS vs. NC STATE IN NCAA FINALS

Memphis State blew out UCLA by 15 points in the NCAA playoffs. They were too big for UCLA with sharp shooting point guards and quick small forward.

In other game, it was an upset for North Carolina. Kansas jumped on them with their suffocating defence and the game was 40 to 12 very early.

North Carolina went on a run and ended up losing by 18 points. Their coach Roy Williams was shocked. Tyler Hansbrough, the MVP, needs a lot of help. Next season will be better.

My prediction on the finals for Monday night is that Memphis State will be the champions over Kansas. The game will be very close. The finals will be played in San Antonio, Texas. Big up all the Belizean athletes abroad. Nuff love always.

EARLY LOOK AT MLB SEASON

The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series in 100 years. The New York Yankees are struggling very early in the season. They miss their manager Joe Torre. He is now with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies will give a lot of trouble this year. The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets looks real good. Houston Astros say they will make a statement very early. We’ll wait and see.

The American League is very competitive. The National League will be very exciting with Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins now with the New York Mets. He won the first 2 games. The Mets will be in the playoffs this season. Those are my updates and early predictions on the Major League Baseball divisions.
