Belize City, Tues. April 29, 2008 - Relatives and friends of Steven Arnold, 35, a.k.a. “Cat” and “Sour”, who was gunned down around 3 a.m. Monday, April 28, are puzzled as to why he was killed.

They said Cat did not indicate to them that he was in danger and he could not tell them who the person was that shot him in September last year when Ian “Horseman” Reid was shot and killed in front of “Kick Down Fence” on Dean Street. Cat survived the ambush 7 months ago. He was shot; the bullet went through his upper left arm and penetrated the left side of his body.

Friends say Cat was at both Bismark Club and Q Club, both of them located opposite each other on Queen Charlotte Street, hours before he was killed.

According to a report, he decided to walk to his home on Zericote Street because the person he loaned his bicycle to was taking too long to return.

Apparently his assailant trailed him and shot him when he reached Monroe Street in Port Loyola.

Sources say that shortly after the shooting a police vehicle passed by and saw Cat lying on the ground, apparently dead. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

Cat is survived by his common-law wife and 6 children. Funeral services will be held for him on Thursday, May 1 at St. John’s Cathedral.
