Dear Sir: I had never heard of your newspaper before a friend showed me a few days ago, but I feel strongly enough about one of your articles to write to you. It seems from your writing (I say your writing because I have been told you do most of the writing in the paper) that you are upset because some other media house is giving the Mayor of Orange Walk a hard time after he knocked down two people a week or so ago. I agree that it could have happened to anybody, but I gather that all the fuss is because the Mayor was treated differently than any other person would have been. That is where I have my problem. We cannot allow any political party to get away with something like that, not the PUP nor the UDP. This country will never move forward until our politicians realize that none of them are above the law. Nobody is ever happy when there is loss of life, but the least we can do for those who did not live to see justice done is to ensure that it is.Shame on you, Sir, for trying to shield the Mayor. He needs to pay for what he has done. The souls of those who were killed cry out for justice. It is bad enough that he has gotten away with what he has done.
