At a point, even one popular pundit/media mogul was encouraging the UDP to do something fast to save themselves in the face of meltdown on his talk-show. In effect he is willing to endorse and protect a failing group of hopefuls just to feel good that no party, in his imagination, can succeed without his help. The UDP have failed and they will lose with or without the media mogul’s assistance. Belizeans have seen the UDP for what they are. As in the classic fable, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” the hypocrisy of the UDP was exposed in all its corrupt nakedness. Like the fabled emperor, Dean Barrow’s façade of reasonableness was shown as a wicked pipedream

Barrow and the UDP were exposed as just a bunch of crooks waiting for the right time to pounce on our heritage.

That said, in the upcoming elections each of us as individuals will have to make our own decisions by ourselves. No one will do that for us. No one will tell us where or how to vote.

Sedi will not do it for us: He is just bitter that Belizeans have rejected him at every opportunity. The mogul will not do it for us: He now has to compete for advertisement dollars like other media houses and he seems to have issues he is yet to address about the PUP’s campaign financing reforms proposals. The government has blocked all loop holes. The new government’s measure of fiscal responsibility is making some of those who took advantage of government’s goodwill to make fast bucks to be bad-mouthing the government. They are angry. Well, they don’t represent us. We can think for ourselves.

Dean Barrow had made all the promises he could ever imagine before the City/Town Council elections, and now they have all failed woefully. Throughout these weeks, the people of Belize saw the unbelievable. They saw Dean Barrow’s “new clothes” as the worthless propaganda it was. The naked truth was told. The UDP have NO integrity, NO accountability, and NO transparency. The events of the past few weeks showed him not to have on any of those coats of honesty and integrity that he had always boasted as being the exclusive domain of the UDP.

Even though we find some members of the UDP amusing, the good of our nation should not be determined by who we are amused by. The UDP is a security risk and a disaster in waiting. We can’t afford to be the UDP and Dean Barrow’s experiment. It has failed woefully at City Hall. It has so far been a disaster. No matter what and how Barrow feels about himself and his cohorts, let him take the risk and look in the mirror and see what we see - a Barrow that is naked and desperately devoid of administrative competence.

In simple words, Dean cannot manage Belize. He does not know how to deal with people. He can’t even manage Zenaida Moya and the Belize City Council.
