The
BELIZE TIMES today spoke with Kendoyll, a graduate of St. John’s College and
Tiffany, a graduate of Pallotti High School, at their home, where they do their
recording and producing.
Tiffany
said that over a year ago, she and her brother started gathering funds to
create their own business. It became a reality a couple months ago and since
then they have done a lot when it comes to Belizean arts and entertainment.
The
motivation behind starting their own business was the fact that there are many
artists and writers who want to showcase their talent, but don’t have the
avenue. In more cases than one, it is because of the finance and the cost of
actually using a recording studio. When it comes to publishing a book, one has
to have funds to print a lot, so that they can sell at an affordable cost.
They grew
up in “music” and have been musicians for 16 years. They truly have a love for
it and this deep love for it and the need to see more Belizean artists being
highlighted all over the world is also motivation for them.
They have
recorded music for artist such as Melonie Gillett, in her song Rush, Bern’s
song that won for the September celebrations, Leela Vernon’s song that won most
patriotic and Kenny Gladden.

They have
only produced one book so far and that is ‘Glances,’ that was recently launched
by the author Norman Rodriguez. They have created a website,
belizeanartwork.com and they are encouraging Belizeans, artists, poets and
writers to join the site. Invite friends and you can even share what you have
on the website, said Tiffany. In this way they can also see it and you never
know, “you might be able to get funding to publicize your talent with the rest
of the country.”
The
website is an art, entertainment and social engine, continued the young
publisher. There is an online audio and video chat room, as well as online
stores where you can purchase hard copies and do electronic downloads. It is a
way to showcase Belizean arts, said Tiffany.
Interested
artists, poets and writers who have great pieces they want to “get out there”
are asked to call Tiffany on her cell at 607-1088 for more information. Right
now they are presently funding CDs and books by Belizean artists. |
