- did you know that you can now get pizza for only a $1.00 a slice? Yes! You
heard me right. It is a shop that most people may know as Chuch Panades Shop
that is located at the corner of West Canal and South Street. Well the shop is
selling Panades once again. Chuch is now resting above, but what she loved
doing in her shop is taking place once again. I know she must be smiling down
on us.
Melanie
Castellanos, known as Mel, is the new owner of the shop, which she told us
today does not have an official name yet. She is opened from Monday to Saturday
and sells food, bar-b-q, burgers, pizza, bread and bun. Bar-b-q, bread and bun
are only available for sale on Fridays and Saturdays.From Monday through Fridays, you can buy
gachos, with or without meat.Without
meat you’ll pay $0.50, and $1.00 for the gachos with meat. Garnaches and panades
are 3 for a $1.00, salbutes for $0.50, while the bread is for $1.00 and the bun
is for $1.25. The burgers are for only $1.00
Bar-b-q,
which is sold starting from $4.00, was actually what started the whole
business, Mel told us. They had been selling bar-b-q for over five months and
would come to the corner right near the shop to sell. She saw that business was
good and wanted to open a little bigger location, so she checked with Chuch’s
son about the shop and he gave her permission to operate it.
That
was a blessing to her and she started working from the shop about three weeks
ago.
Mel
is opened from 9:00 every morning and closes at around 9:00 at night.
