Perdomo found…?
For
months now we’ve been searching for that very elusive Minister of National
Security Carlos Perdomo, who seemed to have vanished mysteriously early this
year. Of course, we put our best investigators on the case, but the last bit of
info we got is that some months ago, Perdomo and his driver were allegedly at
some embassy cocktail when the Minister got a little tippled. Oh hell, man, he
was wasted, they tell us. Now the usual drill is for the driver to take him
home, but guess what – the driver was apparently drunk too. Anyway, as the
story goes, Special Branch had to throw both the Minister and his driver in a
vehicle and take them to the Convention Hotel, where they rolled them into bed
for the night. Anyway, we use this story only for reference because that is the
last place Perdomo was sighted. So here’s this obscure story which just
surfaced yesterday…the driver of Minister Carlos Perdomo ran off the road this
week at some unspecified time at some unspecified place. We say unspecified
because this report never did end up in the Police sit-rep so very little
details are known. Not satisfied, we did a little digging and here’s what we
uncovered – the accident apparently happened on Tuesday night at around 10:00pm
as the vehicle was heading down from Belmopan. Tuesday was Cabinet Day, and it
has become a tradition for certain UDP ministers to drink at a certain bar. So
we figure that the Minister was with his driver on that fateful night and his
Police are just covering up the story. How’s that for investigative skills?
Anyway, while the Minister still remains at large, we’re getting closer…If Da
No Soh!
The Audit is Done…
Word
reaching the Belize Times is that
the comprehensive financial audit on Mayor Zenaida Moya and her UDP City
Council is done and the report is sitting on the desk of the Prime Minister.
Sources within the City Council tell us that the evidence of corruption is
damning and there is a whole lot more missing than was previously thought.
Belizeans are now in suspense – when will the audit be made public, Mr. Barrow?
We can’t wait, cause we’re being told that there is a very well known and very
popular City Council scapegoat who is being coerced to take the fall for the
Mayor. Please say it ain’t so? We’ll leave it like that, but let’s just say
that we now understand why the Mayor was so reluctant to leave her office even
though she’s at the point of giving birth to 50 cent (half a dalla)…If Da
No Soh!
Herbie has left the building…
At
a time when poor Belizeans are struggling to send their kids to school and
impoverished ‘A’ students are forced to cut their educational aspirations
short, this is the best of times for the UDP cronies. The Clerk of the National
Assembly Herbert Panton has left the building for greener pastures, so to
speak. We understand that Herbie has gotten an all expenses paid full
scholarship with study leave (full pay) to finish off his last two years of
law. The effete gentleman leaves behind him to mourn his emotional wife Tracy
and Belmopan Area Representative John Saldivar…you can figure out that one…If Da
No Soh!
BTB Bash…
But
word is the resilient Director of Tourism wasn’t crying for too long, since she
rebounded to throw a $9,000 bash at the Radisson for her Minister Manuel
Heredia. Of course, we weren’t invited, so we can’t tell you all the details,
but for $9000 at a time when tourism related businesses are closing down, we
hope it was one hell of a party…If Da No Soh!
School bags anyone…?
Pablo
Marin has been in hiding since the beginning of the health crisis, and for a
spell we even thought that he had given up his ministerial portfolio in shame
and had gone back to changing lightbulbs. But alas, that was not the case. The
Minister was seen on a very funny move on Sunday night in his constituency in
Corozal. School opened on Monday, so late Sunday night Marin was going to
certain houses dropping off school bags, but the thing is that it wasn’t house
to house, just select house of UDP supporters very close to him. Mein, when
Barrow said that only the UDP supposed to eat his ministers took it seriously.
It seems that only the UDP specials supposed to benefit from these back to
school essentials…If Da No Soh!
New hardware store…
Word
reaching us late this evening is that there’s a new hardware store opening in
Corozal, owned and operated by UDP Senator Roosevelt Blades. Apparently Blades
is in charge of disbursing the grants from the Venezuela funds and dictating
where people are supposed to go to buy their materials for construction. Word
is he was heard telling a friend that his store opens up next week, cause then
all materials can be bought from him since he sure as hell will not be left out
of this UDP free for all…If Da No Soh!
From cheerleader to hardware magnate…
And
it’s much the same all over the country, as the UDP cronies feed at the
Venezuelan trough. In Orange Walk, although it was stated by Finnegan that
disbursements would be done through the Area Representative, word is that it is
the UDP Mayor Phillip de la Fuente who approves application for house
improvement grants. And get this, all the recipients of these grants have to
purchase their supplies at Landy’s & Sons, since Landy Burns was one of the
biggest cheerleaders for the UDP before elections…If Da No Soh!
UDP Free for All…
And
since we’re on the subject of a UDP free for all, word is that the former Mayor
of Orange Walk Town, Ravell Gonzalez, has been awarded a full scholarship to go
abroad and study. Remember the former Mayor, who knocked down and killed a
little girl and a man on the Northern Highway while he was allegedly under the
influence of alcohol? Well, he is now living the life abroad at our expense, a
gift from the UDP for his stepping down and making way for Phillip de la
Fuente. Then there is DPM Gaspar Vega’s daughter, who was pushed to the head of
the line for a teaching position at Orange Walk Technical High School, even
though there were other highly qualified applicants for the post. And of course
there is Educardo Leiva, another UDP crony in Orange Walk, who bypassed other
applicants for a teaching position at OWTHS. It’s a feeding frenzy in the UDP,
but it won’t last forever, and after the feast will certainly come a time of
great famine…If Da No Soh!
