When we thought that we have heard the pits, the most outlandish, vulgar rhetoric- the UDP come and out done themselves. The UDP has only become worse and dirtier. But it is good that it is coming out now, so that Belizeans can make a better judgment and stay with the PUP. What could be worse than to hear the leaders of the UDP calling Belizeans names just because they do not agree with what the UDP thinks. But on Monday, 24th September, 2007, Cutkelvin sunk lower- out did himself on the tastelessness meter. He went smutty. Cutkelvin called all female waitresses and shop keepers of the Fort Street Tourist Village “..PROSTITUTES”

He explained that he believed that they are waitresses/prostitutes because of what he calls low wages. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!!! This has gone over the line and Belizeans should demand answers.

This has gone beyond politics. Or is this how the UDP hopes to run Belize?

The leader of the opposition has clearly said that he endorses everything, even the outlandishness that comes out of WAVE radio, once it will help them to win. But when they offend big interests, he calls in to chastise the host on air.

If Dean Barrow did not call in on 24th September, and we know he was listening, what does it infer about him? Does it not show that Dean Barrow endorses WAVE radio and Cutkelvin’s calling female workers at the Fort Street Tourism Village PROSTITUTES?

We deserve answers. All women deserve answers.

The Women’s Department should demand answers on this. This is beyond politics. No one should be allowed to degrade women in order to win elections. This kind of sexist behavior should be discouraged. The government has worked very hard to encourage the development of women in all facets of society. And we must not sacrifice all of that on an altar of the political aspiration and ego of Cutkelvin or Barrow. No, we must not.

Barrow and the UDP, the Belizean people want to know why you have allowed Cutkelvin to malign the hardworking women of the Fort Street Tourist Village by calling them “….PROSTITUTES.?”

We want answers. ‘Imus’ said something less harsh about black female basketball players and it cost him his job and a multimillion dollar contract.

Belizeans, lets stand up as one people against sexism in Belize once and for all.
