We must not believe Dean Barrow because we know him better now. He has made so many promises that have not been kept. And he has made so many predictions about bad things that will happen to Belize that have never come to pass.

Barrow promised to cancel all contracts as soon as the Belize City Council took on the reins of power. He has not fulfilled that because the contracts were legal and fair. He promised that they will be transparent, accountable, make monthly financial statements available to the people, and weed out any sign of corruption. Barrow has failed in all those promises. How then can we believe this reckless phony? City Councilors with UDP consent, have private accounts they use to squirrel aweay money that belong to the people. And Moya denies weekly assistance to the indigent so that she can buy more jewelry with money designated to the poor. Heartless, selfish Moya!!!

Now Barrow has come around to the same trick again. After lying against the government, he tries to lie to the people, promising things he can’t fulfill. Now Barrow is promising to jail ministers of government and hang others, when he can’t even control councilors Dean Samuels and Mark King. He is promising to take oil contracts to international bidders in order to exclude Belizeans. But he couldn’t put out the resurfacing of the roof of the commercial center to tender; he couldn’t ensure that Moya put out the paving of Banak Street to tender. If he has not been able to put out few thousand dollar contracts to tender, can you believe that Barrow will put out multi-million dollar contracts to real international tender? Perhaps because it will benefit his few foreign friends. Well Barrow has always enjoyed being an American Citizen. Has he really returned his passport? A politician will protect the business interests of the country were his citizenship is.

As decision time approaches, watch out for Barrow’s tricks, lies, big words and empty promises. We cannot afford to be deceived. Belize is too precious to be wasted on Barrow’s all encompassing obsession with becoming Belize’s prime minister.

Barrow will lose, not because of his color, but because he is not good for Belize.
