Dean Oliver Barrow is a sly lawyer, he twists data with the best. He has defended and represented many persons and businesses, right or wrong and has had many, many judgments go his way. Has he twisted the truth in some cases to get victory? Has he lied? Maybe an appropriate name for a lawyer is liar. The politically correct thing to say is “that you have presented the truth and the facts as you understand it”.

So when Mr. Barrow gets on TV and radio and puts out a press release saying that he has removed himself from private practice to dedicate more time to politics and the business of the people, then we believe that he is saying that he will not be seen publicly defending and representing clients in court.

I am sure that I have seen Mr. Barrow on TV many times with various cases after that declaration. The most recent one is the case with the Fort Street Tourism Village and the fight over the wall separating the other commercial entities neighboring the “village”. Very interesting case and FSTV did well in getting Mr. Barrow to represent them. He is one of the slyest in the business. But Mr. Barrow was untrue to his word when he claims that he will dedicate more time to his people and his party. FSTV is what many people would consider a special interest group since they want to have a monopoly on the cruise tourism retail shopping.

How can Dean Barrow defend the rights of a special interest group and at the same time claim that he is allegedly spending more time helping the ordinary citizens of Belize by defending their rights? Nonsense. What about all those persons and businesses in the cruise tourism sector that cannot afford the rents in the FSTV? Do you think Dean Barrow is doing them justice by defending a monopoly like FSTV?

People of Belize, it is all about money!

Never trust a man that has a “price” and worse, never trust a man that has a price and claims he does not have one.

Dean Oliver Barrow makes millions of dollars every year representing special interest groups. Belize Bank and Belize Holdings are just two of his law firm's major clients. On the political side, Lord Ashcroft has been reportedly one of the largest campaign donors to the UDP. But again Dean Barrow takes from Lord Ashcroft and the Belize Bank and then goes on the media and creates havoc with the issues and makes public requests against payments and doing business with the Belize Bank.

His radio station hosts Joe and Juliet even promote boycotts of the Belize Bank and BTL. Imagine, Lord Ashcroft donating money from those business to finance the UDP and then the UDP promotes boycott of those same businesses.

If Dean Barrow can do this to one of his largest clients what do you think he will do with vulnerable Belizeans who believe in him?
