If you want to find
out why there is so much crime in Belize, listen to Dean Barrow and the
UDP. Listen to Sedi Elrington and the Wave radio, and you will hear a
familiar, foul language. They are bent on causing havoc in Belize as a
means of getting into government. They insist that young Black people
have to commit crimes: “You see,” they will often say, “if the
politicians are committing this and that, what do you expect young
people to do but to pick up a gun and rob the ‘Chinney’ shop.” Or you
may possibly hear Sedi allude on his “…Expose...” Talk-show that,
“Things are so hard out here. Tell me, if a man cannot feed his family
what do you expect him to do but to pick up a gun and rob somebody. Are
you surprised that they are robbing the “Chiney” man?”
Sedi believes that nobody should have more money than any other person- neo-socialism at its dumbest. But Sedi doesn’t practice what he preaches; so far has not divided his wealth in two and given half to the poor he claims to love so much. He is a desperate hypocrite. When WAVE radio's Joe and Juliet spout off their bloody rhetoric, they are even more merciless as they keep insisting that the young Black men, is hopeless and should rob somebody, “After all,” they often conclude in imbecilic manner , “you are not responsible for it, this government pushed you into it.” A pedestrian variation on “the devil made me do it.” So desperate are the Red to get into power that they are sacrificing our young people for it. Dean Barrow and Co should understand the dangerous precedent they are creating. They are giving birth to a monster that has been known to get out of hand immediately after birth. Dean Barrow and the UDP hope to destroy young people in order to win the election, and then to save them back after they (in their dreams) take over government. But No! It does not work that way. And Sedi, it is morally wrong, irresponsible and disrespectful for you to keep insisting that once things are hard for Black people, they will have no other resort but to steal. It is disrespectful and insulting to Black people everywhere, and they should all condemn Dean Barrow, Sedi, and the UDP including all those who help to spread those messages of hopelessness and sorrow. Recently, there was a spate of violence in Belize City, and one could take a step back and look at the consequences of the power of the spoken word. If those foul-mouthed muckrakers in UDP could be creating such social havoc right now, it makes you wonder what they will be like in government. Is this how the UDP hopes to rule Belize? It is too bloody? Belize is too good for that. Any vote for the UDP is a vote for Dean Barrow and brutality. It is a vote to destroy Belize as we know it today. We should all be wary. |
