According to the 45 year old single parent who asked that her name not be printed, she visited Cardona at his law firm office on Main Street to seek financial assistance for her 10-year old child.

The child had been diagnosed with an acute infection to the throat by doctors who prescribed a treatment and medicine that had to be obtained immediately. The cost of the medicine was fifteen dollars ($15).

But instead of offering this single mother of 10 at least some consolation, Marcel quickly whisked her out telling her he had no money to assist. Ironically the parent has supported the UDP in the past and Carmelita just happens to be in OW East.

Feeling deeply insulted and hurt by Cardona’s dispassionate and cold-blooded behavior, the villager left and sought assistance with more concerned citizens of Orange Walk.

“He (Marcel Cardona) can never give to the people. And when he helps, it’s only his close lackeys benefit from his pittances. How can he win a general election in this way?” the grieving mother reported.

Marcel Cardona who never contested a divisional to be standard bearer is under a close microscope by the UDP leadership in Orange Walk, who want to get rid of him sooner than later.

Cardona’s leadership is best described as one of non-performance and ineptitude, with a heavy reliance on his committee to think and devise for him even when the issues at hand are of critical importance or urgency.

This can explain why another UDP parent from Chan Pine Ridge could not be assisted with as little as $5 (five dollars) for mediation to an injured right hand. Marcel out rightly told the injured man that he would “check with my committee” then walked away. Before the end of the day the villager was well taken care of by Dr. Leslie Mendez, wife of PUP OW East standard bearer Dr. Marco Mendez, at absolutely no cost.

The words non-performance and ineptitude (incompetence) best match the fading leadership of Marcel Cardona in OW East. It’s almost a waste of time to write about this little loser. But for someone who wishes to lead the people, he must be exposed for who he is. We’ll just briefly mention two more concerns. They pertain to the termination of Cardona’s services as attorney for the Fruta Bomba Company Ltd in Calcutta, Corozal and a case involving an unethical conflict of interest between a client and Cardona, the attorney who represented a certain high school in Belize. That’s all we’ll say for now.
