We are all intelligent people. God blessed Belizeans with good sense. And any politician who thinks he can ‘pull the wool over the eyes’ of Belizeans is simply wasting time. Barrow and the UDP have done the unthinkable the first time: they were able to deceive us with the promise of a mythical change. We fell for it and voted them into city and town councils, March 2006. But so far they have failed woefully. The real problem is that they have shamelessly not stopped at that. They are asking us to follow them to destroy Belize. Violence will destroy Belize. Belizeans, let's look the facts in the face. Barrow is a violent man. All he has been threatening is to pit Belizeans against one another. Barrow has said publicly that he will punish anyone who is PUP personally. He will separate the PUP from the UDP and dish out his vindictive form of “justice”. We can’t afford this.

The adage says that only a fool will know that he will be hurt and stand still to gaze at the source of the hurt. Barrow has shown that he has a penchant for violence. All the UDP has shown is that they will violate your rights to self-determination with impunity. From calling for “civil disobedience” to encouraging attacks against individuals, including media persons, the UDP has shown itself to be a violent party with disturbed leaders. Peyrefitte has bullying, uncouth style, Finnegan has been untrue to his word, Barrow behaves for all intents and purposes like a forked tongue snake in the grass- has said so many evils against Belize including calling Belize a “vagabond nation.” The UDP have displayed three common traits: violence, vindictiveness and disrespect of the law. A Belize under the UDP will be an unlivable place.

YOUR RIGHTS ARE IRRELEVANT TO THE UDP

Even after BEL made public pleas to all to respect their lamp posts and not place political signs on them, the UDP made it clear that “your rights are irrelevant” in the face of their political aspirations. Up ‘til today, Sedi Elrington is still putting up signs on BEL lamp posts. It is good in a way, because it has given Belizeans a bird’s eye view of what a Belize under the UDP will be like - a police state.

It is interesting now that when people pass by the red UDP signs, they elicit scorn among all right thinking Belizeans: “if they could be so arrogant and disrespectful out of government,” many comment, “what could they be like as government?”

Belizeans forbid!!! We are waiting and are clear about it: a violent UDP government will never happen! That is our resolve. Therefore, no matter your personal prejudice for any UDP candidate, a vote for the UDP will convert into a vote for Dean Barrow. It is a vote out of your job; it is a vote against your family’s freedom in Belize. Reject violence. Keep Belize free!
