HOW DEAN HAS MISLED SO FAR 

From all angles, every promise the leader of the opposition has made has turned out to be a lie. All his claims of good governance and transparency have been misleading- false to the bone. Without being forced to do so, it was Dean Barrow who promised to show us how to manage a nation using the Belize City Council as a model. It was his party that promised to be transparent with finances. They condemned the government of the PUP for borrowing and vowed never to do so. They asked for the “head tax” and vowed to use it to repair the streets. They promised so many things as a way of proving that they can manage the bigger economy. All talk and no action.

The UDP model- Moya- has so far reneged on all those Dean sponsored promises. They have refused to make their account books public, because there are things to hide. They have been borrowing from the banks and selling off Belize City assets to their friendly banks and associates at embarrassingly low prices. Worst of all, they have refused to account for all the millions so far borrowed in our name. They have been receiving the head-tax and what tangible project can we see that they spent the million or so tax dollars on? All we hear is that the Mayor has been flying around the world first class and staying in expensive suites and hobnobbing with the rich and famous. They have fired workers even Finnegan promised on public television that they will never do.

BARROW MISINFORMS AND MISLEADS AGAIN

Right now even Barrow who rarely (if ever) attends church is employing some religious tactic. Barrow keeps repeating, “God bless Belize” at the end of his TV and radio adverts- insincerity at its most wicked.

Since his promises made so far while out of government have been untrue, how can we believe the ones he promises to fulfill if UDP becomes government? Won’t Belize be doomed if this happens?

Barrow promises to do this and that about oil or taxes or prices and be transparent about everything. Well, we have heard that before. It hasn’t worked. While he performs all those so-called transparent acrobatics, what will sticky fingered Dougie be doing? This Dougie guy has been involved in so many questionable deals Belizeans don’t know about because he keeps a low profile. What will slimy Manny be doing? Would he not be interested in ‘oily’ things, (and we’re not talking hair grease here)?

Even while in opposition, you can hear UDPs make it clear that “we time wah come. Wen we wah run tings, buoy, a wah tek mines.”

Think about it!!

The UDP is a confused party led by dishonest leaders.
