Questions to the Ministers

  1. Will the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance please say if Cabinet will agree to increase the Social Security contributions on poor Belizeans workers who are already having a difficult time making ends meet?
  2. Can the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and the UDP Government give the Belizeans the assurance that the increase in employer contributions will not be passed on to the Belizean consumers in increases to goods and services?
  3. Will the Prime Minister please say if he would agree to instruct the Chairman of the Belize Social Security Board to disclose how much is paid out to board members in stipends and for allowances including fuel and vehicle allowances for each meeting that members of the SSB board attend?
  4. Will the Minister of National Security, if he is still around, please instruct the Commissioner to report to his office in Belmopan and stop spending time in Belize City giving press briefings and press conferences?
  5. Will the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance please advise the “normal” Belizean worker, earning the present minimum wage, how he/she is supposed to afford the increases in the SSB rate of contributions?
